Job Description

- Located in Nazareth, Pennsylvania
- Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness of all work areas. Ensure products are placed in the proper receptacles. Ensure dock areas, aisles, break areas, bathrooms and shipping offices are organized, clean, free of debris, and in good working condition.
- Effectively schedule allotted staff to cover over a 7-day workweek.
- Establish and hold daily departmental start-up meetings to communicate daily volumes, establish expectations, and safety topics.
- 1½ hour prior to shift prepares for the shift turnover meeting and reviews the following: Inbound volumes for the day, Review all vendor receiving/shipping status, Review the remaining carry over work that needs to be completed, call offs, and scheduled over time
- Ensure all safety policies are followed and training is completed as required.
- Implement auditing procedures as needed
- Coordinate with yardmen to ensure proper trailers are backed in for the outbound loading process.
- Communicate with transportation the status of loads and any expected delays in meeting required completion times.
- Manage the implementation of new company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with staff to ensure that quality and productivity requirements are maintained and communicated to each associate
- Research and assist the Operations Manager and the Department Manager in responding to "mis-ship" complaints from the customer.
- Review and validate daily and weekly timesheets for payroll purposes Supervises the selector associates in the Dry Department
- Assigns duties to employees and schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations. Schedules and performs periodic evaluations of employees as dictated by the appropriate HR policies.
- Assist other warehouse floor supervisors and associates in warehouse policies, departmental procedures, and job duties.
- Follow up on customer concerns/complaints, examines discrepancy reports, and resolutions to restore and promote good public relations with the client.
- Overall responsibility for the supervision of good sanitation practices throughout the warehouse/offices.
- Promotes a positive work environment while also being a team builder Work closely with selection staff to ensure that quality and productivity requirements are maintained and communicated to each associate.
- Assure accuracy and efficiency in storage and shipping of quality merchandise by performing daily visual checks.
- Work closely with Inventory Control to communicate inventory issues.
- Control In-house damage costs through associate awareness and discipline.
- Must be flexible and able to work any shift in support of business needs.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a self-initiator who can implement and supervise all warehouse data entry programs as directed by the Office Manager.
- High level of computer and GOLD system literacy.
- Some college level training is preferred but not necessary so long as there is experience in warehouse supervision and some experience in the wholesale industry preferred
- Strong computer skills required; with knowledge in MS Office, Excel and WMS system literacy
- Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
- Some college level management education and/or 2 years warehouse supervising in wholesale industry
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work standing up or sitting down for long periods of time.
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to work in a distribution center environment with a variation of temperatures.
- Ability to safely work around/with heavy moving equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, clamps, scissor lifts) in a high paced environment.
