Job Description

- Oversee workflow and task execution at the site, ensuring smooth integration of all functions.
- Serve as the primary supervisor for dispatch staff.
- Monitor and validate data entries in the TMW TruckMate system, ensuring proper filing and maintenance of associated paperwork.
- Handle emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance, dispatching appropriate units and maintaining communication with responding units.
- Support all dispatch-related tasks as needed.
- Provide coverage for any open shifts or absences due to unexpected occurrences.
- Maintain communication and coordination between Dispatch, Management, and carriers, including some customers
- Monitor carriers’ on-time deliveries, equipment availability, and ensure equipment is maintained to prevent mechanical failures or delivery delays.
- Manage yard planning to improve throughput, dock door utilization, labor productivity, and reduce congestion and late deliveries.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- High School Diploma or GED required, advanced coursework in data processing or related fields preferred.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered if it demonstrates the required knowledge and skills.
- Understanding of DOT regulations, vehicle weight capacity, and load specifications.
- Must be available to work graveyard shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage stress and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related applications.
- Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) software for load processing, shipment tracking, etc.
- Preferred experience with systems like TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, and RoadNet.
- Strong analytical skills, including data extraction, compilation, and analysis.
- Proficient in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic mathematical functions.
- Advanced knowledge of department functions.
- Ability to detect and correct errors, identify causes, and implement solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, coworkers, and external agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual ability is a plus.
- Experience managing and leading a diverse workforce.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Prolonged sitting at a computer.
- Occasional walking and climbing stairs.
- Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment with varying temperatures.
