Job Description
- Starting at $19/hr
- 7:30 am - 4:30 pm | Monday - Friday
- Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
- Located in Shirley, NY
- Uses basic measuring tools including caliper, tape measure, durometer, calculator and ruler
- Set up machine for operation
- Pulls appropriate dies (tooling) for orders and puts away die after completion of orders
- Responsible for running parts on machines including handling of material and work order paperwork from start to final quality control
- Quality control parts to be in compliance with drawings and specifications
- Operate two machines simultaneous
- Prepare product for next process or pack product for shipping
- Rewrap and label unused material and put in staging area
- Complete all paperwork for shipping and inventory
- Clean machine, clean the area around machine and dump all garbage
- Update work instructions for accuracy & efficiency
- Maintains knowledge of the material used in your department
- Troubleshoot and improve process
- Production report work orders into computer manufacturing software (includes quantity produced, material used, & run time)
- Produce and distribute daily and weekly reports
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality by arriving and beginning work on time, scheduling time off in advance, and keeping absences within guidelines
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while consistently monitoring own work, applying feedback, and seeking ways to improve and promote quality
- Operators exhibit ability to learn and apply new skills and require minimal supervision after training;
- Maximize productivity and safety by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, following security protocols, and reporting hazards
- Available to work overtime if needed
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English
- Ability to interpret work documents, complete routine reports, and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 70 pounds while following all supervisor instructions and performing related duties in a moderate noise environment
