Job Description
- Starting at $33-$55/hour

- 1st (6am-3pm), 2nd (2pm-11pm), 3rd (10pm-8am)
- Located in Waukegan, Illinois
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Maintain and repair equipment including filling machines, conveyors, pumps, compressors, chillers, cappers, and labeling systems.
- Install, align, and test new machinery and production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.
- Troubleshoot equipment such as motors, gear systems, bearings, pumps, valves, and automated production machinery.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify failure points and prevent recurrence.
- Execute precision repairs including alignments, adjustments, and fabrication welding as needed.
- Work with 480V 3-phase electrical systems safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuits.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including Allen-Bradley PLCs and VFDs.
- Ensure compliance with basic electrical code requirements during maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS or similar systems.
- Follow manufacturer manuals, blueprints, and work instructions for all repair and installation activities.
- Support audit readiness by ensuring all maintenance documentation is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to all company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance technicians and sharing technical expertise.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC fundamentals.
- Experience with automated and PLC-controlled equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment including pumps, conveyors, filling systems, labeling machines, compressors, and chillers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related field preferred.
