- Located in Schaumburg, Illinois
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of four in-house recruiters.
- Set performance targets, goals, and expectations for HR and recruiting staff.
- Provide clear job descriptions, development plans, and improvement resources to team members.
- Conduct regular meetings with the HR/recruiting team to review progress, challenges, and priorities.
- Driver Oversight & SupportOversee HR-related support for 170+ company drivers.
- Ensure drivers receive all promised pay, equipment, benefits, and support during onboarding and throughout employment.
- Monitor driver performance, route consistency, and successful arrival to designated locations.
- Provide coaching, corrective guidance, and development plans to help drivers improve safety, performance, and reliability.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to maintain a stable and high-performing driver workforce.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT standards, and HR regulations.
- Respond to driver concerns, performance issues, or policy questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain and update job descriptions, company policies, and performance standards.
- Partner with leadership to implement HR initiatives that improve culture, communication, and workforce efficiency.
- Establish KPIs for recruiters and drivers, ensuring goals are measurable, achievable, and aligned with company objectives.
- Identify areas of improvement across HR, recruiting, and driver performance, recommending solutions and training where needed.
- Track and report HR metrics including turnover, hiring timelines, driver performance, and compliance updates
- 2-3 years of HR management, driver management, or logistics/transportation industry experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to provide direction and accountability.
- Experience coaching or managing CDL drivers or logistics personnel strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume transportation environment.
- Knowledge of HR compliance, employment practices, and DOT-related requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in a freight/logistics office environment.
- Ability to interact frequently with drivers, recruiters, and management.
- Occasional travel or yard visits as needed
