Job Description

- Located in Glendale Heights, Illinois
- Establish freight costs and prepare customer quotes for inland, ocean, and air services
- Communicate with U.S. exporters, suppliers, foreign agents, and consignees via email and phone
- Book cargo with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and consolidators
- Coordinate verbally and in writing with appointed carriers to ensure timely movement
- Issue and manage documentation including Dock Receipts and Bills of Lading
- File selling rates with the FMC
- Prepare and file AES (Export Declaration).Issue MB/L and HB/L instructions accurately and on time
- Provide exporters, customers, and agents with ongoing shipment status updates
- Utilize Excel, Outlook, and other Office Suite tools to support daily operations
- Track, trace, and update shipment status daily
- Enter data accurately and promptly into internal systems
- Maintain effective communication with customers, vendors, internal offices, and coworkers through high volume email and phone interaction
- Monitor operational reports and take action as needed
- Complete accurate and timely billing to customers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and other vendors
- Meet departmental and company KPIs related to service, accuracy, and timeliness
- Demonstrate a desire to understand process flow and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Report workflow progress and issues to management regularly.Attend mandatory training sessions as required
- Minimum of 2-3 years international export experience in Air or Ocean
- Cargowise experience is an asset; DGR certification is an asset
- Experience in ocean and/or air export operations within freight forwarding or logistics
- Strong understanding of export documentation, regulatory requirements, and transportation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Customer focused mindset with strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships withcarriers, vendors, and customers
