Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Fabrication Supervisor to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for daily production execution, team performance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute production priorities and directives established by the Production Manager and leadership team.
  • Communicate and escalate production obstacles promptly to ensure issues are addressed without unnecessary delays
  • Execute the daily production schedule and assist with sequencing brake press, laser cutting, spot welding, and welding operations
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and samples to ensure parts are manufactured correctly the first time
  • Work confidently with multiple material types, including cold-rolled steel (CRS), stainless steel, and aluminum in various gauges
  • Meet daily production targets for job travelers and work orders
  • Minimize machine setup times, material waste, scrap, and production delays
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment, staffing, scheduling, workflow, and other production-related issues
  • Remain hands-on and assist with fabrication activities when necessary to meet production demands
  • Supervise and provide daily direction to a team of approximately 8–12 fabricators
  • Assign work, establish priorities, monitor employee performance, and provide real-time coaching and feedback
  • Enforce workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 6S standards
  • Cross-train team members to increase workforce flexibility and reduce production bottlenecks
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to established manufacturing processes
  • Help employees adapt to new processes, expectations, technologies, and the organization's evolving manufacturing direction
  • Address performance or workplace issues promptly and professionally
  • Perform or oversee first-piece inspections for new setups to confirm parts meet specifications before full production begins
  • Monitor scrap, rework, downtime, and other production performance indicators
  • Identify and report root causes of production or quality issues and assist with corrective actions
  • Maintain a strong focus on producing quality parts correctly the first time
  • Support approved unattended laser operations after hours when required
  • Ensure established manufacturing procedures and quality standards are consistently followed
  • Participate in ERP data entry, production tracking, and process mapping
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow, quality, equipment utilization, and material efficiency.Recommend equipment upgrades or additions, including brake press, turret, laser, and related fabrication equipment
  • Support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Champion new workflows and best practices as the fabrication operation modernizes and expands into new markets
  • Work collaboratively with production leadership to improve shop-floor performance and manufacturing capabilities

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of metal fabrication supervisory or leadership experience involving brake press, laser cutting, and welding operations
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications
  • Experience programming CNC lasers and/or press brakes and setting up tooling
  • Experience working with cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and various material gauges
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Fulcrum, Epicor, or similar manufacturing platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, develop, and hold production employees accountable
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance production output with safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery requirements
  • Commitment to following established manufacturing processes, procedures, and quality standards 
  • Experience supporting build-to-print fabrication for OEM and industrial customers
  • Experience manufacturing electrical enclosures, industrial machinery components, material handling equipment, or door and access systems
  • Strong hands-on aluminum and stainless-steel fabrication experience
  • Experience helping establish or improve fabrication best practices and manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to formal quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100
  • Experience supporting manufacturing modernization, equipment upgrades, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment that may include extreme temperatures, ambient dust, airborne powder particles, and elevated noise levels
  • Ability to frequently kneel, stoop, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier materials or equipment with assistance
  • Comfortable working throughout a manufacturing facility with varying environmental conditions
