Job Description
- Starting at $62,000 - $65,000 (+ bonus potential)

- Located in Brighton, Colorado
- Manage workflow, task execution, and the integration of all functions at the site.
- Implement and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure all employees are trained and adhere to these policies, reporting any non-conformances for correction.
- Oversee the proper processing of load quote requests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
- Train and guide Dispatch Agents in carrier selection, communication, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding shipment status.
- Act as the primary point of contact for carriers, building relationships, and expanding the registry of carrier companies to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of documentation and reports.
- Document communication and follow-up efforts to ensure carrier performance meets customer expectations.
- Negotiate terms and rates with shippers and carriers in the absence of carrier contracts or systems.
- Monitor and record carrier performance, working closely with the Regional Logistics Manager to improve processes and services.
- Exercise discretion and good judgment, understanding the broader impact of decisions.
- Troubleshoot shipment issues as they arise.
- Evaluate employee performance, providing development opportunities and fostering a positive work environment.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining morale.
- Attend meetings and ensure coverage during weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
- Step in to maintain operations during the absence of key individuals in the department.
- Be on call 24/7 for emergencies, staffing concerns, or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree in a related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience in transportation or logistics, including customer processing, route delivery procedures, transportation, brokerage, or 3PL environments.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manager/supervisor or lead position in traffic or a related field.
- Understanding of DOT rules and regulations, vehicle weight capacities, and load specifications.
- Flexibility to work graveyard hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage stress and adapt readily to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.
- Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for load processing, quote requests, and shipment tracking.
- Preferred experience with software such as TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, or RoadNet.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract, compile, and analyze data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management. Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer.
- Occasional climbing of stairs.
