Job Description

- Located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois
- Set up and operate production equipment, which may include CNC machines, die-cutting presses, thermoforming machines, or rubber molding equipment.
- Load raw materials (plastics, rubber, urethane, or other non-metallic materials) into the machines and ensure continuous and efficient operation.
- Calculate and adjust machine controls to regulate factors like speed, feed, temperature, and pressure according to product specifications or blueprints.
- Perform test runs on initial production parts to verify the accuracy of settings before full production begins.
- Inspect finished products to verify they meet precise specifications and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual checks.
- Detects equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as required.
- Separate and record any defective parts or scrap material.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and making minor tool changes or adjustments.
- Follow strict safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation.
- Accurately record production data, including quantities produced, material usage, scrap rates, and any equipment downtime using company tracking systems.
- Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, maintenance teams, and co-workers during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition of production.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Vocational training in manufacturing or machining is a plus.
- Experience: 1–3 years of prior experience operating manufacturing machinery.
- Experience in plastic/rubber manufacturing, die-cutting, or CNC operation is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Math Skills: Solid understanding of basic shop math and the ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues with production machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for 8 to 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 25–30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment that may fluctuate in temperature and have moderate noise levels.
