Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Ranging from $17.66/hour, paid weekly
- 2nd shift
- Located in Lacey, WA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch full truckload (FTL) shipments using contracted carriers
- Occasionally manage less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments as directed
- Maintain communication with carrier dispatchers and drivers, providing shipment updates
- Follow carrier routing and load tendering instructions
- Accurately process bills of lading and ensure documentation matches shipment details
- Act as a point of contact for carrier dispatch and customer service inquiries
- Maintain detailed shipment logs and daily paperwork
- Use transportation management systems (TMS) like TruckMate or PC Miler
- Support back-office functions by sending necessary documentation for invoicing and payments
- Troubleshoot and escalate shipment issues promptly to management
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in traffic management or logistics
- 1 year of freight brokering experience preferred
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation documentation
- Experience in a 3PL, forwarding, or brokerage environment is a plus
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs
- Must be comfortable working in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures
- Ability to climb stairs when necessary
