HIRING IMMEDIATELY: MANUAL MACHINIST IN HOUSTON, TX
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Manual Machinist to join our client in Houston, TX. This individual will be responsible for a variety of machinist and pump mechanic tasks, such as reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications, operating manual lathes and mills to produce precision components, and participating in the disassembly of a variety of pumps, such as overhang, vertical, split case, and more.The ideal candidate will possess a mastery of manual lathe and mill work with experience working on large parts and tight tolerances. Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Starting at $28 to $34/hour, paid weekly
- Excellent benefits package: Medical, Dental, and Vision
- 1st shift: 7am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday schedule with some Saturday OT
- Located in Houston, TX
- NOTE: Secure parking, climate controlled shop, tools supplied if needed
Machinist Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications
- Operate manual lathes and mills to produce precision components
- Utilize calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Work on the lathe, as well as shaft machinery. Resleeve bearing housing as needed
- Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and troubleshoot issues
- Participate in the disassembly of a variety of pumps, such as overhang, vertical, split case, and more
Requirements and Qualifications
- Mastery of manual lathe and mill work
- Experience with large parts and tight tolerances
- Must be able to conduct TIR checks
- Experience in manual machining - lathe, mill, and drill a plus
- Must wear safety toe boots, pant. No loose style shirts
- Non-prescription safety glasses and gloves along with hearing protection supplied
