Located in Indianapolis, IN
Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate reach trucks, order pickers, and other forklift equipment to transport materials and goods throughout the warehouse or distribution center.
Load and unload shipments, pallets, and containers from trucks and storage areas using forklifts, ensuring proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage.
Conduct routine pre-operational checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure functionality and report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning, labeling, and organizing materials in designated storage locations, following established inventory control procedures.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following traffic patterns and speed limits within the facility to prevent accidents and injuries.
Requirements and Qualifications
Previous experience operating reach trucks, order pickers, or similar forklift equipment in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification through training provided by the employer.
Ability to safely maneuver forklifts in tight spaces, around obstacles, and on various types of flooring surfaces, including ramps and inclines.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately record inventory movements, locate specific items, and maintain warehouse cleanliness.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods during shifts.
