Job Purpose:
We are a leading sheet metal fabrication company, certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), seeking a highly experienced Sales/Business Development Manager. This role is responsible for driving new business growth, building long-term client relationships, and expanding market share within the fabrication and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have 10-15+ years of experience in sales or business development, with a proven track record in the fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Strategy:
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing sectors.
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to increase revenue and expand market share.
Promote the company’s DBE certification as a unique value proposition to clients and partners.
Client Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored fabrication solutions.
Market & Industry Expertise:
Leverage extensive knowledge of the fabrication or manufacturing industry to identify trends, forecast demand, and stay ahead of the competition.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance the company’s visibility and expand its business footprint.
Project Management:
Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of client projects, from initial contact through final delivery.
Oversee contract negotiations, pricing, and terms to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analysis for senior management.
Monitor sales performance metrics to assess progress towards targets and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience:
10-15+ years of sales or business development experience, specifically in the sheet metal, fabrication, manufacturing, or related industries.
Industry Knowledge:
Proven success in developing business within fabrication, sheet metal, or manufacturing environments. Experience working with clients in construction, aerospace, automotive, or similar sectors is a plus.
Sales Acumen:
Strong understanding of market dynamics, client needs, and how to position the company's capabilities effectively.
Communication & Negotiation Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively engage and close deals with clients at all levels.
Proactive Problem Solver:
Ability to diagnose client challenges and offer innovative solutions that align with both client and company goals.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with or leveraging DBE certification to secure business opportunities.
Understanding of technical aspects of sheet metal fabrication processes and capabilities.
Familiarity with CRM tools and data-driven sales strategies.
Work Environment:
Combination of office and occasional on-site visits to client locations and fabrication facilities.
Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, trade shows, and networking events.
