The Ocean Export Coordinator will be responsible for managing ocean operational activities, ensuring competitiveness, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Pay, Schedule, and Location
$18 to $20/hour, paid weekly
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Located in Elk Grove Village, IL

Duties and Responsibilities
File NVOCC rates and maintain the rate book for the branch
Negotiate rates and space with steamship lines to ensure competitiveness
Make bookings with steamship lines and arrange truck/rail movement of freight to sea ports
Input ocean bill of lading into the system and prepare L/C documents as required
Complete Department of Commerce documentation for exporting freight
Track shipments and communicate freight movements to shippers
Ensure compliance with FMC regulations
Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in ocean operations
Expertise in international freight forwarding operations
Knowledge of U.S. FMC regulations and compliance
Strong math skills for calculating freight and storage charges
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to motivate others and work effectively under pressure
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Flexibility to work long hours, including overtime, as needed
