Job Description

HIRING IMMEDIATELY: TOOL & DIE MAKER IN LAKE ZURICH, IL

Accurate Personnel is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our team in Lake Zurich, IL. This position plays a critical role in setting up CNC machines, performing bench work on tooling, verifying the quality of machined tools, and assembling components. The ideal candidate will also support Corporate Engineering as required. If you have hands-on machine shop experience and a commitment to quality, we encourage you to apply!

Pay, Schedule, and Location

  • Pay: $25 to $30/hour, based on experience

  • Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm

  • Location: Lake Zurich, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Follow plant safety procedures and guidelines, understand and apply Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, wear and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and immediately report any workplace injuries or incidents.

  • CNC Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines, including raw materials and cutters, and prepare blocks for machining.

  • Tooling Operations: Incorporate vacuum vent holes, bench and polish cavities and inserts for prototype and/or production use, and assemble molds, pre-punch, die, and stacker units.

  • Machine Maintenance: Maintain CNC machine cleanliness and upkeep, and operate manual machining equipment such as saws, mills, and lathes.

  • Quality Assurance: Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

  • Design and Inventory: Create simple designs and drawings for the Engineering department, track and inventory tool room assets, and maintain organized work areas.

  • Team Support: Assist other workers with specific tasks as requested by the Tool Room Manager or Engineering, and support company Food Safety efforts through compliance with SQF standard practices and policies.

  • Quality Practices: Follow plant quality practices, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on machine shop operations; CNC setup experience is a plus.

  • Skills: General problem-solving abilities. Solid communication skills, both written and verbal. Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to work with manual tool room equipment and hand tools.
