Maritza begins her day with precision. "The first thing I do is check my calendar and emails to get a sense of the day's priorities and any urgent issues that might have come up overnight. After that, I like to make a to-do list to organize my tasks and set clear goals for the day," she explains. Her mornings are a symphony of schedules, each note carefully planned to ensure the day hits all the right beats.
Staying organized is Maritza's forte. "I use a combination of digital tools and physical notes. I keep a detailed planner for daily tasks and deadlines to track progress on projects. I also set reminders and regular check-ins to ensure I stay on top of my responsibilities," she says. Her approach is a seamless blend of the old and new, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
When faced with a tough task, Maritza knows exactly what to do. "I break the task or challenge down into smaller, more manageable steps. I then prioritize these steps and tackle them one at a time. If the task is particularly complicated, I do additional research to ensure I approach it with the best strategy," she explains. Her desk is a haven of tranquility, featuring a unique combination of succulents and candles. "I love succulents and candles, and I have a little succulent candle," she shares with a smile. These desk items add a touch of nature and calm to her workspace, while also setting a peaceful tone for the Executive Floor of the Corporate North office.
To recharge during a busy day, Maritza takes short breaks outside. "I like to take short breaks to step outside and get some fresh air, especially when I am able to bring my husky to the office. Sometimes, I'll do a quick walk or just sit in a quiet spot to clear my mind. It helps me return to work with a refreshed perspective and renewed energy," she says. Her love for nature and her husky offer a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.
Company events are a highlight for Maritza. "The times that we've had events have been the best; they're where I get to know everyone and get to know a little bit of everyone's life," she shares. Many of her favorite work-related memories involve getting to know Juan Mackan at events like these. "He was such a light; he made sure everyone felt like part of the company," she fondly recalls.
Outside of work, Maritza has many passions: traveling and making charcuterie boards are near the top of her list.
"Many of my colleagues are surprised to learn that I spend my free time exploring different cultures and cuisines, which often inspires my charcuterie creations. I enjoy crafting elaborate boards with a variety of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments, and I love sharing these with friends and family," she reveals. Her charcuterie boards are famous among her coworkers at Accurate’s Schaumburg office.
Throughout the day, Maritza always dedicates time to connecting with her coworkers. "I find that quick catch-ups and informal chats help build stronger relationships," she notes.
When it comes to Accurate Personnel traditions, Maritza is a fan of our biggest get-togethers.
"I really look forward to our annual company conferences,” says Garcia. It’s a great opportunity to step away from the usual work environment and see all the wonderful faces that make up Accurate. It’s always a highlight of the year and helps strengthen our team’s bond," she adds.
