"At Accurate Personnel, we take safety engagement extremely seriously. Directly after employees are hired, they go through new hire training covering workplace safety and the standards that are set for safety at Accurate Personnel. We also offer 10-hour OSHA training to employees. Those who complete the training get certified and leave with more knowledge about how they can be safer every day to help limit any unnecessary accidents."
Safety Engagement at Accurate Personnel
National Safety Month at Accurate Personnel
The month of June marks National Safety Month. Here at Accurate Personnel, we take pride in doing our best to create the safest workplace possible for our employees and our clients. Throughout this month, we will be emphasizing the importance of safety in the workplace, as well as giving our employees the opportunity to participate in safety-based activities. Doing so should help create a fun, and informational National Safety Month at Accurate Personnel.
History of National Safety Month
The National Safety Council (NSC) declared June as National Safety Month in 1996. Their goal was to increase awareness of potential safety hazards and injuries in the workplace for industrial workers.
Now, every June the NSC provides free safety resources which topically highlight the causes of workplace injury and death. This gives companies the information they need to help in preventing avoidable injuries and even death.
National Safety Month 2024
Every year, the NSC chooses a theme for each of the four weeks in June to highlight different aspects of safety in the workplace. The theme of the first week is safety engagement. The purpose of this theme is to ensure all employees, top to bottom, are actively involved in making their workplace a safer place for themselves and their coworkers around them.
Importance of Safety Engagement at Accurate Personnel
At Accurate Personnel, we take safety engagement extremely seriously. Directly after employees are hired, they go through new hire training covering workplace safety and the standards that are set for safety at Accurate Personnel. We also offer 10-hour OSHA training to employees. Those who complete the training get certified and leave with more knowledge about how they can be safer every day to help limit any unnecessary accidents.
We also have a great safety team on staff at Accurate Personnel. Safety Coordinator Robert Calderon and National Safety and Compliance Manager Drew Wesley are both great resources for all employees who might have questions or concerns about safety. They are always available and always reliable.
In addition, there are regular safety inspections that take place for Accurate. After receiving feedback from these evaluations, our company can make adjustments to fix potential problems and also build on certain aspects that are noticeably improving safety.
In order to ensure the greatest amount of safety engagement possible, this month we are doing weekly trivia questions based on workplace safety with incentives to participate as much as possible. To go along with the trivia, we are having Toolbox Talks to add tips on how to be safer, and Spotlight on Safety to recognize Accurate employees who are going above and beyond to make themselves and those around them safer.
