Meet Sanjana Sharma, Accurate Personnel’s Senior Staff Accountant of nearly three years. Joining the company on July 12, 2021, Sanjana brings over a decade of accounting expertise to our Finance team. She goes beyond mere number-crunching, turning financial data into symphonies of accuracy and strategic insight.
Each morning, Sanjana glides into the office with a smile on her face and a “Good Morning!” that could brighten even the gloomiest ledger. Her big dual monitors come to life, and with a substantial cup of Hazelnut coffee in hand, she’s ready to conquer the day. “I open up my email, reply to anything urgent, but then dive straight into the daily treasury duties and the world of numbers,” she says.
Sanjana’s favorite work-related memory is as impressive as it is heartwarming. “My most favorite memory has to be my interview with Accurate,” she recalls. “The connection was very surreal; before I arrived home, I had an offer to join the amazing Accurate Family!” It’s a testament to her undeniable talent and the immediate impact she makes.
Staying organized is an art form for Sanjana. Her desk is a harmonious blend of paper and digital sticky notes, Accurate notepads, folders, calendars, and a whiteboard. “Or most times, just neat piles on my desk,” she adds. It’s a visual symphony of efficiency that helps her navigate the complex world of finance.
When faced with a tough task, Sanjana turns into a financial detective. “I gather and research all the background facts, organize the data, and begin working on solving the puzzle,” she explains. It’s no wonder she’s the go-to person for unraveling the most intricate accounting mysteries.
Her workspace is sprinkled with personal touches that reflect her personality. Family pictures keep her grounded, while her Disney mug emblazoned with “Mornings aren’t MAGICAL!” adds a dash of humor to her day. It’s a quirky mix that makes her desk a beacon of positivity.
Amidst the number-crunching, Sanjana knows how to recharge. “You’ll see me lost in my Excel spreadsheets with my headphones on, listening to podcasts, acoustic guitar, or just rocking to some jams with snacks on the side,” she says. Sanjana’s stories aren’t all numbers and ledgers. One memorable moment was when the finance team dressed up as characters from Finding Nemo for Halloween and ended up recreating the plot of the film, thanks to some help from Michelle Malachowski, Accurate’s Director of Finance.
“Michelle tries to put on her shark onesie and it's ginormous,” says Sharma. “After laughing and cracking jokes at her, together we spark our finance magic. Let's just say after the costume was on her none of us could find where our manager had gone missing it appeared we had lost her at sea.” (Pictured below)
Outside of work, Sanjana surprises her colleagues with her adventurous spirit. “I’m a very outdoorsy person, enjoy traveling, always ready to go on hikes and day trips, and be close to nature,” she shares. It’s a stark contrast to her meticulous work life, showing her multifaceted personality.
In a job that’s often about precision and solitary focus, Sanjana stays connected with her team through various means. “Our team is very active on Google Space; we use emails, video conferences, phone calls, or text messages,” she says. It’s this constant communication that keeps the team in sync.
Sanjana looks forward to the annual Halloween and Christmas parties. “I love our little team competitions,” she adds. These events are the perfect blend of fun and camaraderie, reinforcing the strong bonds within the team.
